Avantha Masters 2012 Betting Preview
Next European Tour stop is in New Delhi,India and we’ve found some value tips in our Avantha Masters 2012 Betting Preview.
This week does however see a break for most of the European Tour’s best players as they get ready for the WGC Accenture Matchplay next week in Arizona. This leaves us with a relatively weak favorite in Joost Luiten @ 16/1 with most sports bookmakers.
The DLF Golf & Country Club measures just over 7100 meters and is fairly tight requiring consistent, accurate tee shots. The course will test a player’s overall ability to shape shots and manage their game around many sloping fairways and heavily contoured greens. It is forecast to be very cool in the mornings warming each day so that should also make things a little interesting. With there being no strong favorites we suggest backing each player for either a place or top 10 with World Sports Betting rather than outright as we could see an outsider winning, here are our Avantha Masters 2012 Betting tips…
Richie Ramsay for a place @ 8.25/1 (World Sports Betting)
The Scot is looking to get back to his best after having a solid 2011 season . Again a slow starter in 2012, but he was 22nd in Driving Accuracy in 2011 and if he can sharpen up his iron play, he will be finding himself in contention a lot more. He finished 14th at last year’s Avantha Masters so considering this week’s field he will be itching at the bit to peg it up on Thursday morning…this one’s there for the taking!
Jeev Milkha Singh for a place @ 7/1 (Sportingbet)
After a reasonable start to the year, Singh returns to his home country to contend for the Avantha Masters. He captured 3 European Tour titles in a space of 2 and a half years and last year at this tournament was contending until the final round where he eventually finished 11th. He doesn’t hit it long, but hits it straight which is key around this course…good price for a place!
Thongchai Jaidee for a place 8.25/1 (World Sports Betting)
Jaidee has had 16 top 25 finishes in Asia based tournaments, which is the most of any player in this field…a solid ball striker who also doesn’t hit it long, but very straight and is a solid all round player. He will be looking to win another title and this week is a good chance with the relatively weak field.
Romain Wattel for a top 10 @ 33/10 (World Sports Betting)
Wattel has started the year well and is definitely finding his feet on the European Tour. In 2012 he is 29th in Driving Accuracy and 9th in Putts Per Round on the European Tour and this points towards a good finish in an average field this week. He is starting to become well spoken about and sure to see him win a title very soon, 33/10 is a solid bet for a top 10 placing.
Jbe Kruger for a top 10 @ 33/10
(World Sports Betting) – The young South African has a slowish start to the year, although finishing well at the Joburg Open and also had a reasonable finish last week in Dubai. After posting five top 10′s in his 20 European Tour events last year it shows he is a fighter right until the end…he also finished 4th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, which is evident he loves the shorter, narrower tracks.
