2012 Masters Tournament

After round two: 2012 Masters Tournament Leader Board.

Every year the Masters comes around and blows me away. Its the first major of the year and never disappoints. The course is in amazing condition with the greens being slick and slopey as always. The players are all on the hunt for that green jacket.

Masters Betting Preview 2012

The first Major of the year is finally upon us so here is our Masters Betting Preview 2012.

It’s such an exciting event year in and year out and this year will be no different! Tiger is in good form, Rory is looking to rid the demons of last year’s horrible back nine, Charl is defending champion and Phil Mickelson has finished in the top 5 in his last three starts…will we see a first timer winning? Or will we see Tiger don another green jacket?

Masters Stats and Records

It’s the Monday of the fans favourite major so let’s take a look at some of the Masters Stats and Records.

Defending Champion is our very own Charl Schwartzel who won exactly 50 years after Gary Player won his first Masters. Schwartzel was making only his 2nd appearance at Augusta when fending off Jason Day and Adam Scott down the stretch carding 4 birdies in a row from 15 through 18. Rory McIlroy had a collapse he’d rather forget after shooting 80 in the final round, he did show huge character though winning at the US Open after many thought it would take him a long time to get over his finish.

The pair of South Africans currently do not meet the requirement of being in the top 50 in the world at the end of the season, and would need to either play themselves back into the top 50 by the end of March or win a PGA Tour event (save for those tournaments held opposite WGC events).
