There are a number of different markets to choose from and these are primarily Win, Place, Top 10,72 Hole Matchups, Group Betting, 2/3 Ball Matchups as well as a number of other varying markets from tournament to tournament.

Win – Player winning the event outright (even if in a playoff)
Place – Place refers to a top 5 finish (some bookmakers offer only 4 places though so keep note)
Top 10 – Player finishing in first 10 places (if tied for 10th then bookmaker may adjust payout…please check beforehand)
72 Hole Matchup – These are head to head matches between two players over 72 holes (Bookmakers offer various different matchups each week)
Group Betting – Bookmakers select 5 players and give odds for a player to win that particular group (regardless of where he finishes in the tournament, as long as he beats his group opposition)
2/3 Ball Matchups – These are given on a daily basis and a punter merely chooses who will have the lowest score ON THE DAY out of the pairing or 3 Ball
Varying Markets – These range from “Players under par, winning score, cut made at, hole-in-one or not, 1^st round leader,players under par” etc.

Too many punters back a player to win and only win, this is not realistic and often when it is realistic the price is fairly short so it doesn’t pay large dividends. In smaller fields this can be the best bet sometimes, but only if being absolutely certain.
