Mahan Wins WGC Accenture Matchplay
Hunter Mahan won his second WGC tournament after defeating Rory McIlroy in the final of the WGC Accenture Matchplay.
Most would have been backing McIlroy to win considering his opportunity to capture the world #1 ranking from Luke Donald. Earlier McIlroy had beaten Ryder Cup team-mate Westwood 3&1 with a superb exhibition of matchplay golf. McIlroy went behind on the second, found a greenside bunker on the third and then the greenside rough on the driveable fourth, as Westwood went three up after four holes.

Some of these holes are just spectacular, one of these courses I’ve actually played and that is the TPC at Myrtle Beach…if ever you are in South Carolina I’d suggest playing there as quickly as possible, what an experience!
